Respecting Academic & Personal Data
Grazing Minds Journal of Management Innovation and Technology (“Journal”, “we”, “us” or “our”) respects the privacy, identity, and intellectual confidentiality of authors, reviewers, editors, and visiting scholars. This policy outlines our protocols regarding data collection, double-blind peer-review confidentiality, digital preservation, and statutory privacy compliance.
01 Information We Receive & Process
We collect information strictly necessary to process, review, and archive scholarly submissions and maintain editorial communication:
Author names, institutional affiliations, official email addresses, country of origin, ORCID iDs, research manuscripts, author declarations, and formal correspondence.
Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, user-agent device strings, referring URLs, request timestamps, and cryptographic session security tokens.
02 How We Use Scholarly Data
Personal and technical data collected through the submission portal is deployed solely to:
• Facilitate manuscript intake, desk screening, and double-blind peer review.
• Transmit formal editorial correspondence, peer-review reports, and decision notifications.
• Typeset, index, and syndicate accepted papers in scholarly registries and open-access databases.
• Defend the integrity of the submission gateway against automated scripts, denial-of-service, and submission fraud.
• Maintain compliance with statutory publishing regulations and international COPE standards.
03 Manuscripts & Peer Review Firewalls
Unpublished manuscripts, research frameworks, datasets, and referee deliberations are strictly privileged and treated as confidential. They are disclosed exclusively to the Editor-in-Chief, appointed section editors, and vetted independent peer reviewers.
Reviewer and author identities remain mutual strangers under our double-blind protocols. Reviewers are legally and ethically prohibited from retaining, copying, quoting, or exploiting unpublished research findings for private or commercial benefit prior to official publication.
04 Public Scholarly Metadata & Archival
Upon formal acceptance and publication, certain bibliographic data elements intentionally become part of the permanent scholarly public record. This includes author and co-author names, institutional affiliations, ORCID iDs, article titles, structured abstracts, funding disclosures, and publication dates.
To maintain permanent academic citation integrity, published bibliographic records and full-text documents are deposited into digital preservation archives and cannot be modified or deleted without formal COPE-sanctioned corrigenda or retraction procedures.
06 Data Retention & Security Measures
Editorial intake records, reviewer appraisals, and official communications are retained in secure archives as necessary to substantiate editorial decisions, address post-publication dispute resolutions, and preserve research integrity audit trails.
We implement industry-standard TLS encryption for electronic transit and restrictive access controls on server files. However, authors are reminded that no internet data transmission is completely invulnerable to external compromise.
07 Your Statutory Rights & Access Requests
Subject to applicable data protection laws and statutory archiving requirements, authors and reviewers may request access to, correction of, or verification of their personal contact information held in our active editorial database.
Requests concerning active account details or administrative communications should be submitted directly to our editorial desk.
